My spouse and I ate here on August 3rd and I must say that this was some of the best dining we had since we could remember. The food was outstanding, I visited Japan in 2014 and fell in love with the cuisine. The food here felt like I was right back in Japan. Our server, Eddie was also awesome. He was very attentive, honest, and made us feel like we'd known him forever and was visiting a friend at work with how he was. We will definitely be back soon.

I went here on a whim qnd I am so pleased that I did. It's honestly the best sushi Ive had in raleigh. The fish was so fresh and beautifully plated. Our server (Julie) had amazing recommendations and phenomenal service. The service and the food will definitely bring me back. Highly recommend.

3.5 out of 5 stars. Here’s why: We made a high top reservation for 6:30 and were seated promptly but the table location was very poor. It was awkwardly in the back where you faced a wall and was right beside the kitchen entrance and bathroom where people were constantly walking past. You could even get whiffs of the bathroom, so we were asked to be moved (they should just get rid of this table honestly). There were no other tables available so we sat at the sushi bar, which was totally fine. Food was served quicker this way. It was busy, but our waiter was working the whole sushi bar and seemed rushed, even spilled some of our sake on me. He also mentioned to us he was trying to make it to his friend’s birthday, so I didn’t appreciate him constantly asking if we wanted to order something else or if we were done and hovering over to make a decision. Even when we paid he said β€œI don’t usually do this while customers are still eating but can I check yall out.” Not a huge deal, but again, I didn’t like the feeling of being rushed out when the restaurant was still open. We also had to ask him several times for a straw and remind him about our beer after 10+ min of waiting. Perhaps they

Hung out for lunch at the back sushi bar with Cho. Couldn't have asked for a better experience! Got some Saba, Uni, Young Yellowtail, Toro nigiri style. You can tell the fish is handled delicately and well. Its hard to find a good Uni. Chefs were friendly and cool plus the wait staff was more than accommodating. Also, they have good wasabi here along with an excellent sake menu for all price points. Will be coming back! Thanks for having me!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an amazing experience at Waraji! Our waitress, Shaiel, truly made the night special. She gave us outstanding service from start to finish. Shaiel took the time to thoroughly explain the menu, walking us through the different sushi options and helping us understand the variety of sake available. Her knowledge really stood out β€” she broke down the flavor profiles of each sake and offered thoughtful drink recommendations that paired perfectly with our sushi selections. What we appreciated most was how patient and engaging she was. She didn’t rush us and made sure we felt comfortable trying new things. On top of that, she shared the history of the restaurant and talked about the diversity of the staff, which made the experience feel even more personal and welcoming. Exceptional service, delicious food, and a warm atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back β€” and we’ll be asking for Shaiel!
